Well maintained your artificial lawn should provide years and years of pleasure - up to twenty years of pleasure. So what is needed?
Occasional 'light brushing' to pick up leaves, pet mess and any garden debris that might have blown onto your artificial lawn - just as you would with natural grass. If you need to, you can lightly wash areas with water to clean exceptionally dirty areas - but be careful, do not use a pressure washer as this will remove the sand infill.
Sometimes little seedlings may sprout in the sand infill. These are easy to pull out as they will only be in the surface sand. The weed membrane will stop vegetation growing through from underneath. In very exceptional circumstances you may need to use a weed killer if the artificial grass has not been maintained properly for some time.
Once a year you should check to see if the wind has made the sand infill uneven. If so you may need a small amount of additional silica sand to top up the infill. This needs to be spread carefully to make sure you don't "over fill". The sand infill is important for keeping your lawn looking great.
